We bought this charger as a "prep" item because we live in hurricane country. It's proven useful for much more. We were able to stay in touch with friends and relatives, and have access to emergency services, during an ice storm that killed the power for a day and a half. We've also taken it camping and hiking. |

The sun is able to charge it just up to 50 % and even being on the equator in the middle of the day, the device is simply too small to charge a smartphone. I use it as a energy buffer together with a bigger solar panel and works good. The light is very useful. Cons: the ON / Off button is difficult to use without longer nails. |
