I really don't understand where did those ratings above 2 star come from. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM unless you want to risking breaking it when installing and will never have to touch it after installation.

What's wrong with it?

1. The metal piece on the handle are too big, which is common because you would think it can help stand inside the socket. But unfortunately, the metal is so firm that there is no way you can bend it without a hammer. So you can't really insert it into the socket without lot of effort. And forget about unplugging it, it's gonna be a nightmare.

2. You think that's the worst, right? Hell, no. The handle is made of cheap plastic. Though it has the nice feature of turning it at certain angle, but it's just so fragile that you feel you can break it every minute. If you have luck to install it nicely, well, you might want to pray that you will never have to plug other heavy cable or charger into it, because you will break it easily on a bumpy road.

So when it is hard to insert it into the socket yet the handle is fragile, you know what is likely to happen when you use it. If it's not the first time, then it could be next it you want to unplug it and put into another socket. It will break.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM.

I just took a road trip from NJ to FL and this was a huge help. I have 2 outlets in my car - one is on the dash and the other is in a storage compartment between the seats, but I had my phone and iPad which need usb ports, and the gps and a laser detector which need outlets. This concentrated 2 usbs and 1 outlet, so the other outlet was freed up and everyone could charge up at the same time.
It's a little bulky and gives up a bright blue light that may be distracting for some during night driving, but it didn't bother me.

The blue LED light is so bright it is dangerous and blinding to the automobile driver.

This worked great for a couple of months and literally fell apart while plugged in causing a fuse to blow.
